August 2013 | Launch of the Special Edition in Novosibirsk

A first specimen of the handheld sculptures was presented to the press by representatives of various Siberian cultural institutions and by Sergei Lissitzky, grandson of El Lissitzky and Sophie Lissitzky-Kueppers.

Manufactured in Novosibirsk the artefacts are made of carbon steel. Key stations of the Lissitzkys’ bio-geographical itineraries are engraved on their 5mm thin sides. Preceding the public launch of the proposed 10,000 migratory monuments, the two hundred objects of the first edition will be sent to international experts in art and architecture of the Russian Avant-garde and to more than fifty museums around the world, including the Tate Modern in London, the Bauhaus Archiv in Berlin, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Guggenheim and the MoMA in New York.
